307. Abu Sa-iid Al-Khudri RadiyAllaahu 'anhu narrates that
RasuulUllaah (SallAllaahu
alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) entered the Masjid one day and he saw a man
from the Ansaar, called Umaamah RadiyAllaahu 'anhu. He said: O Abu Umaamah! What is the
matter? I see you sitting in the Masjid aloof, other than the time of
Salaah. Abu Umaamah RadiyAllaahu 'anhu said: I am surrounded
by anxieties and debts O RasuulUllaah (SallAllaahu alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam)! He said: Should I not
teach you a Du'aa, when you invoke it, Allaah will remove your anxieties and
get your debts paid off. Abu Umaamah RadiyAllaahu 'anhu said:
Yes verily, O RasuulUllaah (SallAllaahu
alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam)! He said: Say in the morning and in the
evening: (Translation) O Allaah! I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow,
I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness. I seek refuge in You from
cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from being burdened by
debt, and being oppressed by people.

ibne Waqaas RadiyAllaahu 'anhu narrates that a villager came to RasuulUllaah (SallAllaahu
alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) and asked: Teach me some words which I may
repeat. He said: Say! None is worthy of worship but Allah; He is Alone; He has
no partner; Allah is, indeed, the Greatest, Abundant Praise is due to Allah;
and glory be to Allah; Who is the Sustainer of the worlds; there is no might to
resist evil, and no power to do good, except through Allah, the Mighty, the
Wise.
The villager said: These words are for
my Rabb, what is for me? RasuulUllaah (SallAllaahu
alayHi wa AaliHii Wasallam) said: Say! O Allah, forgive me; have mercy on
me; guide me; provide me and make me well-being.
It is mentioned in another narration that RasuulUllaah (SallAllaahu alayHi wa
AaliHii Wasallam) said: Indeed, these words will get you all the good of
this world and the Hereafter. (Muslim)
