Blessings are with your elders

neither exceeds the proper bounds and nor does he turn away from it; and honouring a just ruler.

Note:  The man who has memorised the Qur'an ought to be regular in recitation, and makes no excesses in pronouncing its verses for name and fame.   (Badhl-ul-Majhud)

147.  Abu Bakr RadiyAllaahu 'anhu narrates: I heard RasuulUllaah SallAllaahu 'alaihi wa  aalihii wasallam saying: He who honours a king appointed by Allaah Tabaaraka wa Ta'alaa in the world, Allah will honour him on the Day of Resurrection. He who dishonours a king, appointed by Allah 'Azza wa Jall in the world, Allah will dishonour him on the Day of Resurrection. (Musnad Ahmad, Tabaraani, Majma'uz-Zawaaid)

148.  AbdUllaah ibne 'Abbaas RadiyAllaahu 'anhuma narrates that RasuulUllaah SallAllaahu 'alaihi wa  aalihii wasallam said: Blessings are with your elders. (Mustadrak Hakim)

Note: This means that those of old age have done more virtues and as such, they are more blessed. (Hashiyatul Targhib)

149.  'Ubaada ibne Saamit RadiyAllaahu 'anhu narrates that RasuulUllaah SallAllaahu 'alaihi wa  aalihii wasallam said: He is not amongst my followers who neither shows respect to our elders, nor mercy to our youngsters and does not recognise the rights of our 'Aalim (Scholar).   (Musnad Ahmad, Tabaraani, Majma'uz-Zawaaid)
